Observing is an important aspect that every child needs to learn. There are several ways through which a child can be helped to improve this operation. Many books have been written by different authors to help children improve this operation of observing. This skill needs to be developed by through use of such materials that will help a child have a clear understanding of different aspects in observation. This will help a child to be able to distinguish different things using their observation skills. Observation will also help a child learn different things that he may encounter in his or her lifetime.
“Hello, Day!” (Lobel, 2008, p 12) is a book that a child can use to develop his or her skills in observation. This book contains vivid colours and illustrations of different things that a child needs to get familiarize with. In the book, there are illustrations of animals that a child can be able to observe thus learn about them.
“Hide and Snake,” (Keith, 1993, p 23) is also a nice book that a child can use to improve his or her skills in observing. This book contains illustrations that can encourage a child to find things such as snake that is mixed up with colored yarns. The color of the snake is blend with the color in illustration. This can be a nice book that a child can use to develop his or her observation skills.
Furthermore, children can develop their observation skills by use of books that contains different pictures with their names alongside the. “Picture book for children,” (Cianciolo, 1997, p 34) contains different pictures that can help a child perfect his or her skills in observing. Moreover, “I’m brave!” (McMullan, 2014, p 19) has some pictures that can help a child improve his observation skills.
