The organizational behavior refers to the study of the relationships between people in different organizations. Therefore, it is essential to understand how one behaves in the different environments to enhance a peaceful coexistence in the workplace. For this reason, the management should enhance ways of identifying the organizational behavior to increase the production levels that leads to an upsurge in the revenues (John 180). To understand more on the organizational behaviors, people came up with theories that would help the management to identify and categorize the organizational behavior.
Thesis statement: understanding of the organizational behavior is essential to understand the different individuals fully at the workplace and also to increase the productivity level of the firm.
Nonetheless, the organizational behavior could take different strategies. First it could take micro strategy, which only relates to the individuals within the organization. The strategy aims at improving the relationships between the employees and the employers. Therefore, the management should also plan for meeting where both the employees and the employers sit on the same table and discuss issues affecting the organization. Additionally, the employees are given the room to air their grievances, and if well addressed, the conflicts at the work place reduce. On the other hand, macro strategies relate the organization to the external factors that directly or indirectly affect the organization (John 201). Therefore, the organizations understand the outside environment better and also come up with ways to hedge against the competition.
The students' lives portray a good instance of organizational management. In schools, the students take directives from the teachers and the top management. Therefore, the teachers view the students as subordinates who should always take orders from the seniors. However, if the management involves the students in the administration, it is only the student leaders execute the orders. As a result, the bureaucratic theory comes to effect. Bureaucratic theory refers to a system of governance where the directives come from the top management. The management arranges most departments in hierarchical order, where the top management possesses the most powers.
On the other hand, the student leaders possess more powers than the fellow students. The administrative theory also plays a part in the leadership. As a result, the students implement and execute the rules formulate the laws formulated by the management. Therefore, the organizational behavior is portrayed the teachers allowing the student leaders to execute the laws. The reason behind it is due to the perception that the students are closer to the fellow students. In most cases, the students always oppose the teachers because of the constrained relationships between the two parties (John 99). However, if the management wants to pass very important messages to the students, they use the more friendly teachers because most of the times, the students do not respect their fellow students.
Nonetheless, the election of the student leaders depended on several factors. First the students had to hold the leadership qualities that would match the tasks ahead. The leaders must have qualities like; good decision makers, motivators, planners, and controllers. Therefore, it was very difficult to vote for the students without the outlined qualities. The classical theory developed by Frederick Taylor played a significant part. He argued that the management needed to appoint individuals who would match the tasks assigned to them. As a result, the productivity level increases due to the effectiveness of the leaders.
Nevertheless, conflicts have emerged in most learning institutions between the students and the management. There are some rules that the students regard as oppressive leading to the engagement. However, there is the need to change to suit the needs. Therefore, flexibility is vital to allow for neutrality where both teachers and the students find common ground to eradicate the issues. The management is required to flex the administration ways because rigidity brings a lot of wars. Therefore, to fight back, most students engage in strikes, where they demonstrate and damage a lot of properties. Consequently, to avoid the strikes, both the students and the parties should listen to each other and find a common ground thereby preventing the riots and the strikes.
However, the school management needed to uphold the ethics of the profession. Ethics draws respect from most people because they provide the guidelines that the teachers need to follow in their line of duty. Additionally, the student leaders should maintain the students’ ethics to earn respect from the fellow students thereby reducing the conflicts in schools. For instance, the students who practiced favoritism in terms of punishing the wrong doers faced a lot of rejection from the others (John 283). In most cases, the students would always hold demonstrations chanting the names of the discriminatory students and asking for the removal. Therefore, it is important to respect and practice the code of ethics for every organization to help in the improvement of the school’s public image.
In most schools, the management applies autocratic model. The model requires the top management to implement the rules that the students should follow. Consequently, the disobedience of the rules results in serious consequences, for instance, suspensions and expulsions from the schools. The teachers argue that granting too much freedom to the students leads to disrespect for the teachers. Additionally, the concepts employed in most learning institutions are; the different people’s perceptions, involvement level, the social systems in the organization and the differences among the population. Therefore, the management should consider the different perception the students have regarding the rules and regulations to improve the coexistence.
Conversely, the social systems in the learning institutions demand well-behaved students. Therefore, there is the necessity to formulate the rules that enhance uniformity in the student’s behavior. The learning institutions consist of people with different cultural background thereby the need to respect all of them. Students demonstrate the lack of respect for the cultures especially for the minority groups. The lack of moral values leads to both the students and the teachers undermining the other people’s culture. As a result, the oppressed and left out students develop a negative attitude towards the rest (John 104). The minority groups tend to alienate from the public thereby creating a disparity among the students. As a result, the constrained relationships lead to internal wrangles within the schools.
In assumption, the management should fully understand the management behaviors in the different organizations. Organizational behavior helps the management create an ample environment at the workplace. It also helps the top management discover the potential leaders, which they monitor and direct to become the future leaders. Additionally, the management recognizes the factors that work well with the organization. Therefore, the management should gather enough information that would help in understanding the organizational behavior.
