Verse

The above verse encourages people to walk in purity and righteousness by not seeking the approval of others. The verse is significant in cautioning people against doing things to please others but rather live a life that is pleasing to God. Looking at God as the rewarded of righteousness will help people to engage in right activities knowing that God is always watching them. The verse mainly teaches on the fear of God rather than the fear of man. When God is at the center of their actions, they will shun all forms of evil and sin.

Hadith

“When a human being dies, his work for God comes to and end except for three: a lasting charity, knowledge that benefits others, and a good child who calls on God for his favor.”

Sahih Muslim

The hadith encourages people to live for a good legacy rather than living an empty life. Good morals should always come before wealth and material gain. The hadith hence encourages people to invest in people by imparting virtues that will live on even after they have died. They hence need to devote themselves to the service of God and also teach their children to be devoted so that they pass a similar legacy to their generations. They should also engage in works of charity that involve meeting the needs of the poor and helpless in the society.

The second pillar of Islam emphasizes on the importance of prayer. The habit should be observed at least three times a day, which is necessary in strengthening the faith of the believer. Prayer is an important tool that will prevent the believer from sinning or even falling into temptation. Prayer is also one of the ways that a person shows their commitment and devotion to God. Prayer strengthens the faith of a believer and enables them to commune and ask God for anything they want. It is through prayer they find guidance, deliverance, healing, provision and even protection.
