The three articles deal with the modern culture and different interpretations of cultural subtypes. Even though every article carries a new perspective on the presented issues, the most compelling article is: “Out of Line: The Sexy Femmegimp Politics of Flaunting It!” by Loree Erickson. The author gives a sincere introspection based on the personal experiences of people who are disabled. In spite of the fact that the society treats people I wheelchairs with a certain negligence, deprives them of the privilege to love and bee loved, to be treated as individuals who also have sexual desires and needs, the author inspires the readers to look at them from a different perspective. They are also people who have the rights to everything that others have even though the popular culture refers them as social burden. After reading this article, I realized that our culture neglects the people with disabilities by stamping them with disabilities and therefore they are deprived of the right to love. The deprivation is deeply rooted in our culture so that even people with disabilities do not even care to think about a love relationships as an option. This is one of the stereotypes that exist in modern culture. The author of the article proves differently. People with disabilities are capable to love and have a healthy sexual relationship. The sincerity of the article and the attempt to bring closer the needs of people with disabilities are the most compelling and the author has achieved in conveying its message. The society needs to accept people who are different as equal and treat them with respect and dignity that they deserve.
