Introduction

Humans are power hungry creatures, and therefore, they intend to gain political strength in the organizations. The elements of teamwork and group dynamics are contributing towards flattening the organizational setups in the modern era of the 21st century, and with the passage of time, the companies are drifting away from the philosophy of command and control in order to boost the organizational commitment in the employees. The managers and employees are closely tied up in the latest version of the company, and therefore, they have to engage alongside each other in order to realize the intended goals and objectives of the entity. The managers have to delegate responsibility and accountability to the employees, and the workers have reserved the power to destroy the image of their leader at any given moment, and they can use and apply different methods in this regard in order to achieve the same outcome. The team culture has led to the increasing emphasis on leading abilities of the managers, and therefore, if the group is not effectively working then, the respective leader has to face the blame. The top management removes inefficient leaders, and replaces them with better ones to say the least. With the passage of time, the companies have to entertain the needs and wants of internal stakeholders in order to prevent them from rocking the corporate boat out of alignment. The times of Luther King were very divergent because the social and political power was present in a fewer hands, and therefore, people who wanted change have to adopt a less invasive approach of silent resistance. However, nowadays, the employees are well aware of their rights and freedoms, and therefore, they are not going to back down against a demeaning organizational culture and structure. They will raise the voice, and the leadership of the company will put their ears to the recent development. The top managers have to take and sponsor appropriate actions in order to retain the unsatisfied employees. The employees will take their resistance to the next level if the managerial team does not respond in a meaningful manner, and the workers will threat to have a strike or they can resign in order to find best places for employment. The third way of reacting towards a bad boss features deviant behavior such as theft and developing lack of interest in the job. The international students do not formalize their relation with the American culture and intend to withhold their societal identity, and therefore, they prefer to passively resist the behavioral and attitudinal pressures in this regard.
According to Luther King, the silent and nonviolent resistance is the best method to challenge social and organizational injustice, but the time has changed a great deal, and presently, the companies are made up of empowered employees who possess the need to see their efforts through, and they require performing exciting jobs as well. The leaders who do not let others find greatness in their lives would be replaced by progressive minds to say the least. The passive resistance that King identified as nonviolent approach towards conflict management got much complex in the modern times of the 21st century. The employees will develop ethical and philosophical cases in terms of establishing the need to remove their current boss, and if the management does not respond promptly then, they will risk losing human resources. The scholars have successfully linked the growing of job turnover in the organizations with unhealthy psychological behaviors of the managers towards employees. The employees will not sit idly against suppression of their rights, and therefore, they can quit the jobs in order to find new and lucrative ones or they have the choice of starting their own businesses as they know that many like them have initiated corporate affairs and emerged as successes in a few years.
The literally contribution of Luther King was added into the world where racism had captured every corner of the country, and he could not have ever thought that an African can own a business in the country of America. However, the featured geographical location has eliminated genderized discrimination along with that of racial and social stature as well. The employees do not fear to lose the jobs because the industrial sector is grooming once again, and therefore, the professionals have significant number of job at their disposal, only if they are willing to slide the curtain of their rooms slightly. The companies are facing productized competition, and at the same time, they have to fight a battle in order to procure effective human resources from the market. Given the challenging outlook of the human resource market, the companies cannot survive if they commence to lose their employees consistently, and the attribute of technology has made the consideration of firm’s size an irrelevancy. The companies such as Amazon.com and Wal-Mart have revolutionized the industry of retailing in the recent years, and they used technological advancements in order to create a strategic feedback loop that is sustaining their operations. The suppliers of Amazon and Wal-Mart are enjoying partial access to the stores’ inventory systems, and they receive orders automatically once the reorder point for a specific item is reached.
The world of Luther King did not have an integrative presence of technology, but the global economic and social setup of the globe is pushing us towards adopting the concept of global citizenship behavior as a leading philosophical ground of life. The leader who took a stand for his people could not have understood the social regimes of the modern worldly order, and therefore, his ways in the direction of oppression have worn out in terms of their applicatory value. The employees have grown stronger regarding their political power in the organizations, and they will not refrain from raising their voices in reaction to the apparent incongruity on the behalf of management. They will not and cannot follow silent regime while safeguarding their professional interests in the companies because if they do so then, the management will severely start to commence suppressing the labors’ rights and freedoms. The management’s ethical and humanistic sides will experience degradation as well when the workers do not stand for their due rights in the organizational context. Secondly, the employees do not have to plan total destruction of the companies because the selection of passive resistance will hinder the process of organizational development. The presence of conflict at a subliminal level will not create a healthy future for the company, and divergence in the quality and strength of efforts will enhance. Martin said “They tacitly adjust themselves to oppression, and thereby become conditioned to it” (Wheeler, 2), but the employees in the present times do not condition to the organizational culture. They intend to create a fairer balance between their individual needs and those of corporate nature.
