Creativity and incentives have a fundamental importance in the deriving success in various spheres of life. Creativity is defined by the ability of an individual to combine various elements of an already existing system to come up with a more useful component. Creativity is dependent on a number of factors that include cognitive ability and the establishment of new ideas. Incentives play a critical role in motivating individuals to be to perform certain tasks although such tendencies cannot be replicated in creative endeavors. Case in point is that an individual motivated is clouded by expectations and what they are supposed to achieve effectively, making them fail to realize the predetermined objectives.
Organizations in the modern dispensation focus on rewards and incentives as a measure of motivating employees at the workplace. However, incentives do not derive similar results when employed in creative projects. Incentives make individuals have a fixed thought system making them have a one-dimensional approach to various issues as opposed to thinking outside the box. In most instances, incentives that are choreographed to propel creativity negative impact on individual thinking (Pink 4). Ideally, incentives make creativity dull with the cognitive ability being crowded with a single approach. Various studies have proven that incentives are only effective when there are a direct means through which an objective or a goal is achieved. The candle experiment is an example that incentives are not actual determinants of exemplary creativity (Pink 7). The experiment indicates that those who are provided with incentives delay in their submission and limited in ideas. On the other hand, people with no incentives have a sharp cognitive ability and can derive solutions in a short time.
The essence of creativity is developing something new that can be used for implementation purposes in other areas. Incentives, though important may not ensure creativity although competence and technical ability may have inherent similarities. Incentives constrain people to the extent that, instead of focusing on the main project, there is always a divide attention to be achieved (Pink 8). There are a number of ways through which solutions can be derived. While some have direct connotations, some require flexibility and open-mindedness to ensure positive results. To this extent, it is imperative to understand that incentives may provide positive results for algorithmic responsibilities. Case in point is that algorithms have formulas that require logic to bring about solutions.
The society, especially in the economic sector requires the right brain to establish solutions that flexible and ideal. However, incentives cannot be condemned wholesale for the role they play in propelling individuals in performing certain tasks. Though incentives may not be a productive component in creativity, it helps in propelling individuals towards meeting certain objectives. The stimulation of thinking or cognitive ability can be done even without incentives. It can, therefore, be intimated that the relationship between incentives and creativity is loose and does not yield the needed results.

Flexibility in thinking and deriving solutions out of complex scenarios is the essence of creativity. Though incentives play some role in motivating individuals, it has a loose relationship with being creative. Incentives cloud thinking and make the process of creativity dull. Creativity requires flexibility in thinking to allow for effective maximization of the relevant options as appropriate.
