The media industries should obey the laws and regulation drafted to control the media personalities conducts. Therefore, the media people should uphold the rules and regulation to avoid any breach of the laws that could lead to various consequences, such as termination of the work. For this reason, the public and the regulatory authorities demand total carefulness from the media when reporting. As a result, conflicts between the regulating authorities, the public, and the media decline.

Observation 1

Kate Murphy published a story about how people could get vengeance against the enemies. The author explains how the Australians improvised a glitter bomb that would help in getting back at the enemies because the person would send it as just a normal parcel in an envelope. However, the information would increase the bombing rates in most countries that never knew that the glitter bombs existed. Nonetheless, some people would perceive it as a protective measure that warned the people in opening every envelope that came their way (Kressel, 1997). However, Kate Murphy went ahead to explain the other types of revenge that people adopted. For instance, reporting the case to the police or ignoring the action.

Psychological application:

Therefore, the different revenge ways opened the people’s eyes in solving the disputes. It is natural for emotions to overcome humans and it leads to the vengeance feeling. Additionally, revenge brings peace and stable emotions to the humans. As a result, the article encourages people never to let go of an act that deserved vengeance. If anyone decided to forgive, the ancient society exposed one to more mistreatments from the community members because they would regard such people as cowards who would never defend themselves. “Vengeful acts were what kept our prehistoric ancestors alive,” (Murphy, 2015). Consequently, the information conveyed in the article encouraged people always to revenge against those who wronged them because it created the perception that revenge is good and acceptable among the citizenry.

Observation 2

Harris and Dylan conducted an execution in Columbia. The execution resulted in the death of one teacher and 13 students while they injured 21people. However, there was mixed reaction from the public. Some argued that the continuous watching of violent movies led to the heinous act. However, the media portrayed the act as one, which the violent movies triggered the murder. Additionally, the media stated that the two men who later killed themselves had repeatedly watched a violent movie by the name,” Natural Born Killers,” Attwood, et al, 2013).Nonetheless, the media was to blame for allowing a frequent airplay of the movie in the media mainstreams.

Psychological application:

Nonetheless, the psychologists argued it was erroneous linking the movie to the murder because other causes would have triggered the anger that they let out in the Columbian school. Therefore, there was a challenge in coming up with the cause of the murder because the media provided unreliable information. The media reported the incidence with much certainty that would end up misinforming the public (Simpson & Coté, 2006). As a result, they came out as unethical because they did not even allow for the investigations to place before making the conclusive reports.
In conclusion, the media personalities should observe high integrity when reporting the incidences to avoid unethical behavior. They should also weigh both the positive and the negative impacts the different reports have on people thereby deciding what goes on air.
