The Wiki page that I examined is entitled “How to allow PC Remote Access from your PC”, which provides instructions on how to access computer from another location using the internet. As I reviewed the recent changes on the article, I found out that the previous page do not include instructional images to back up the word instructions. It shows exact portions of the computer that needs to be clicked on, visited, or manoeuvred. I would say that the changes, technically, have nothing to do with the instructions or the correctness of writing but merely on the use of graphics. Nevertheless, it is also a qualified argument that graphical images are part of an instruction because it gives more clarity and flow of statements. Because people perceive and understand things differently such that some are good in words while other are good in visual images, it is ideal to combine both features in making instructions, especially for a technical topics and processes. Moreover, Wiki-how is pretty much a collection of ideas from one person to another; thus, changes in words can sway the meaning of the instructions depending on the type of words being ridded out or added but if aided with pictures, the possibility of confusion taking place is more likely not to happen. The most effective instruction materials available both in print and online are those that are equipped with complete features: not only a passage of words but are both textual and visual.
