Good Example Of Essay On The Upper Right Corner.
Writing assignment 1
Collage is a visual work of art made by gluing fragments of printed material onto the two dimensional surface of a canvas or surface.
Objects used in collage can be both original and borrowed and include materials such as bits of magazines and newspapers, ribbons, photographs, figurines, and wood. Moreover, this art form incorporates mixed media. For instance, an artist may use bits of a newspaper to create a base image and then paint over parts of the final work. The artist might then add other materials such as fabric, textured paper and ribbon to make the work more diverse. Collage is made in three steps: first, a style of collage is chosen that includes paper, fabric e.t.c. Second, a suitable backing is chosen. This may include things such as paper, cardboard, old book covers, wood, and plastic.
The upper right corner is composed of politicians shown through the artist’s scornful eyes. The artist is ridiculing those in the image for supporting a war that they ended up losing. The most interesting part is the head of Keiser Wilhem II, to whom the blame of getting Germany into the unsuccessful war was placed. Two pairs of struggling legs are used to replace his mustache. Below him, General Hinderberg’shead is placed on the body of a belly dancer. It is interesting that the dada movement was not in favour of sexism and war; therefore, it appears that the general and those in the upper right corner image were against both of these protests.
During its development, Germany was in governmental chaos after being beaten in WWI. Two political wings, the Weimer Republic and the Communist movement, were struggling as the nation separated with the old Weimer Republic and began the other wing activity; Communist movement. The pictures in the higher right area indicate the artist’s opinions of the governmental and public issues that occurred during the conversion in Germany community. These pictures of people in politics provide the artist’s critique of the governmental disorderly scenario between the old Weimer management and the prevailing left-wing communist plan.
