The books of 1 and 2 kings talks of how God rescued and delivered the Israelites by revealing his power. Compared to other books of the bible where such power is revealed through a group, the book of kings concentrates on individual persons. The people may be considered ordinary in the eyes of the reader, since most of their names are not mentioned.
