Abstract

The goal of this paper is to present the determination of nurses in an acute environment and how the death of a patient is handled. A review of the present literature provides a revelation of a mixture of outcomes concerning the effectiveness of proper handling of nurses in the event of a patient in a critical condition requiring an urgent and critical care. All literature presents the emotional expression that is held in the perception of being cathartic as a view widely held by nurses as being a positive mechanism for coping. However, random controlled trials inpatient death handling models do not provide a demonstration of participation preventing of distressful symptoms. This tends to give rise to anxiety with nurses developing strong anxiety regarding death with the possibility of being less comfortable in the provision of nursing care for the patients in critical conditions are brought into their care. The paper will provide an exploration of the literature concerning the anxiety associated with this type required care and the attitude of nurses. The major objective is to look at the impact of the occurrence on the nurses in the care of patients that are so close to dying. The study incorporated quantitative studies to explore the attitude towards death with a critical view at which stage. Three core themes were established, and they included the degree of death anxiety, the anxiety of death and perception held towards the dying and finally education on death as a necessity for this form of emotional work. The basis for the quantitative surveys were based on the application of valid instrumentation with the outcomes providing a suggestion of the degree of death anxiety of nurses in hospitals and other medical services(Polit & Beck, 2013).

Purpose/Objectives

The purpose of this abstract and poster is to show the planning committee an overview of the required project. To show that the research on evidence-based nursing practice project that is of interest to issues of acute and critical care nurses. This project is aimed to look keenly at the way that the management of nursing is to be conducted using a creative and targeted educational research based approach.

Significance

According to LoBiondo, & Haber, (2002), there is a dire need to improve the nursing skill set that is required to handle the patients that are in the acute condition stage. The reason for improving these skills and the knowledge of nurses in this area is to make sure that there is an improved survival rate for patients with this condition and level of treatment. It is a vital stage in Medicare, and most nurses are not fully equipped with the required skills to sort the problem. According to Polit & Beck (2013), most of the nursing training is based on how to deal with non-acute patients. The training of the nurses indicates that one must fill a gap, and the planning committee has to step and implement our recommendation to solve this problem in Medicare.

Design

The research will incorporate several hospitals and then results should be developed to the effect that they will solve the existing problem adequately. The data that is collected is what will determine the effectiveness of the remedies that are applied. The design of the study is important to incorporate all the requirements of the study.
