This course is both challenging and exciting. Learning about the culture of Turkey and the culture and history of minorities in the Middle East is an eye opening experience. The understanding of these minorities, and their way of life has shaped my own thinking and helped me to appreciate diversity. Hence, I believe that the course is of great benefit to me. However, that said, I do believe there is room for improvement both from my end and yours. This paper will give feedback on the areas you can improve on, and how I, as an individual, can improve my college experience.

Steps I Can Take to Improve My College Experience.

One of the primary steps that I believe is important for me, and indeed any college student, is to learn the art of self-management. To improve, I have learned that I need to take control of my life. In the past, I must admit that I have been guilty of simply “cruising” through school, or to put it better, going through the motions. I have always relied on schedules in order to manage my time. However, college with its flexible schedules has posed a challenge to me. Thus, I feel I need to take responsibility for my life and develop an ethical code that will guide my personal life. This will help me make good decisions on my studies and realize my dreams.
I also feel that I need to get out more. Usually, I am a rather introverted person who spends time online instead of interacting physically with other people. This is limiting in a way since it leads to a narrow mindset. I feel that by going out more, I will interact with more people. This interaction will broaden my thinking (My collegesucess story.com). Learning about other cultures has also helped me to appreciate people, and given me a drive to know them physically and learn more from them. This interaction and open-mindedness is pivotal to success in this course.

Areas You Can Improve On.

As a tutor, you are excellent at delivering content in an easy to understand manner. I feel that we have no problem relating to you in this regard. However, while that may be the case, I feel you should give us more group work as opposed to individual assignments. The advantages of working in a group are innumerable, least among them the interaction and team spirit that it creates. In this course, keeping an open mind is important as we are dealing with a foreign culture. Hence, what better way to understand the culture than to discuss it in a multicultural environment such as the one a group would provide? We are all different. Hence, we could share thoughts and help each other grow. The second area where I feel you may improve is in the area of personal attention. Whereas I appreciate that it is a large class, and things are different from studies at other levels, I feel that you can provide more personalized attention especially to students who appear to be struggling. I believe that you can easily identify students falling in this category by analyzing the scores on the assignments and tests you give us. You could then give them more individualized attention and this would go a long way to helping them excel.
