Isolation is a common side effect of electronic devices on children. This is due to the amount of time that children are spending constantly hooked to electronic devices such as mobile phones. Statistics show that most children spend most of the time from when they wake till late at night sending messages to friends (Jordan 36). Isolation is common in the sense that there are very limited face to face interactions with the people that the children are supposed to be in contact with. Children may in the long run fail to acquire essential skills that are required in holding conversations. Threatening messages have also been on the increase where children may be in bad terms with each other. Online bullying issues may fail to be resolved due to the nature of some bullying where the bully may be anonymous.
Children education may be affected by the use of electronic devices since their attention will be directed to these devices leaving little time for their studies. It is also inevitable not to note the changes in sleeping patterns among children who have unlimited access to electronics. This is because it is likely that if a child has not slept, they are likely to be online doing a wide range of things. Through proper analyzing school records, a majority of children who have access to electronics have poor grades. This Cleary illustrates the impact that these devices have had in their lives. The positive impacts that the use of electronic devices have vary depending on the electronic devices being used. Children who are constantly hooked to the television are likely to acquire a good command in language depending on the content that they are viewing. Through such skill, there is a high possibility that such children will have good grades on the different languages that they may be studying.
The use of computers may also be positive depending on the content that they are viewing. Chances are that children will broaden their minds if they conduct their research online. Through this, it will be possible for children to acquire information that may be useful to them and their studies (Rosemond 21). Children may advance their studies through the use of information gathered from the use of electronics. Peer reviewed materials are also made available online where children who have access to electronics such as computers may go through them and learn some relevant things. Messaging services that are made possible through electronics devices such as phones have been useful in maintaining communication. This is because parents can now effectively communicate with their children when they are not directly in contact.
