Leadership is the method of influencing by which a single person, or a group of people encourage a group to follow goals and objectives said by the leader or his or her admirers. There can be various types of leadership styles such as Autocratic, Managerial, Democratic, Transactional, Transformational or Collaborative. Some people are leaders because of their formal position in an organization, whereas others are leaders because of the way other group members respond to them . Based on my past knowledge and education, I believe my personal leadership style is the Managerial style.
The managerial style is applied when the leader is apprehensive of a smooth operation, rather than the working towards the objectives and efficiency of the organization. This style is also applied in decision making. Managerial decision making is treated essentially as an individual process that occurs in an organizational context . The leader using the managerial style is thoughtful to associations among staff members, with an intention to perform the duties smoothly. Based on the rules laid by the organization the leader’s focus is on funding on reinforcing the organization’s systems, policies, positions, and equipment, or ensuring the daily duties produce good results and ensuring all members perform their duties well.
I believe that good leaders normally have a leadership style, which they knowingly use on a regular basis; however, they are not inflexible. They alter the needs as required to deal with anything that comes up. I adopted this style due to my nature of building relationships with peers and sub-ordinates as I believe that a good relationship with the team can help build an organization. As stated by , I consider that this style has helped me to set clear goals, adept at knowing the needs of employees and motivate with rewards. The organization may support this style sometimes, but I would need to change myself to be a democratic leader.
