Introduction

Individual ethical perceptions influence the effectiveness of organization’s ethical principles and social obligation to the stakeholders. A rational management must uphold the diverse individual principles and opinions of every employee and strive to strike a common ground by formulating emotionally connected code of conduct for all stakeholders in order to create a strong bondage towards attaining the organization’s objectives (Valor, 2005).

Explain the Role of Ethics and Social Responsibility in Developing a Strategic Plan, Considering Stakeholder Needs

Role of ethics in developing a strategic plan.
Building a strategic plan guided by the conscious approach to ethics and the demands of pertinent stakeholders is a cementing factor on an organization’s objective to win customer loyalty and maximize their production of goods and service delivery. The acceptable moral standards in an organization deter dominance of personal greed, disguised as enlightened self-interest from overshadowing the unbiased interest of stakeholders. Ethical principles foster fairness by cultivating a culture of open communication, mental freedom and honesty with all stakeholders. In another perspective, the ethical principle promotes transparency and accountability as a core pillar in advancing a firm’s strategic plan. If individuals are allowed to implement development strategies without central oversight, the influence of cultural diversity among employees would to derail the plan’s success. Therefore, Universal ethical principles overrule individual interests by committing the conscious role of employees accountable to the organization’s progress. Ethics confines the mind of internal stakeholders to recognize their responsibility towards attaining consumer’s demands without infringing on their moral rights (Weiss, 2008). For instance, ethical standards enable companies to focus on producing quality products and services as a stepping stone to achieving the organization’s economic objectives.

Role of social responsibility in developing strategic plan.

Companies have a moral obligation to safeguard the social well-being of internal stakeholders, as well as the surrounding society. Social responsibility commits an organization to uphold the social welfare of employees through fair wages, secure working environment and recognizing their sentiments without intimidation (Valor, 2005). Embracing open communication in the workplace cultivates the standards of motivation and continuous innovation trend within the working environment.
Corporate Social Responsibility protects consumers against price exploitation and delivery of substandard products and services. Further, maintaining a clean environment free from hazardous effluents is a social responsibility that the society expects firms to obey. In that case, morally ethical standards build on the commitment of external and internal social obligations of a company to its stakeholders without bias (Weiss, 2008).

Explain How Your Ethical Perspective Has Evolved Throughout the Program

In reflection, it would be logic to assert that ethical perception is a continuous aspect characterized by the social and cultural diversity of individuals and an organization’s standards. In a business perspective, a company, in its capacity as an artificial person has an ethical obligation to safeguard the social welfare of employees and the interests of the stakeholders. The program has helped in realizing the thin boundary between personal attributes and professional ethics. The former creates the foundation for developing unanimous profession standards in an organization. However, if personal characters promote individualism rather than collectivism, the organization’s standards of collective working culture supersede any individual interest.
In addition, the program fronted that implementing ethical standards would succeed if a culture of emotional intelligence is endorsed in the workplace. The principle supplements the presumed axiom that the means justify the ends. Without universal ethical principles, it would be difficult for an organization to sustain an integrated communications network and innovation trend. From a personal perspective of understanding what is right or wrong, the program has taught me that resolving organization conflicts with moral standards demands a conscious accommodation of respective individuals social principles and fostering collaborative rather than competitive communication in building unbiased consensus on what is morally and ethically upright.

Conclusion

Conclusively, the moral goodness of stipulated ethics in an organization is not determined by the end results but rather on the individual’s behavior in upholding internal and external moral obligations without curtailing his personal freedom and autonomy. To enhance blending of individual ethical perception with organization’s mission and objectives, it would imperative for a firm to conduct emotionally accommodative training for all employees in a bid to harmonize their moral virtues with ethical obligations.
