Every generation has different interests and priorities. Some endorse the traditions and some are the protagonist of modernity. This can be related to the hospitality work place and performance of the employees. Incentives are a source of encouragement and motivation. It is necessary to offer the right incentives to the right age group. Employees of different generations work in such companies. An old man would not be happy if a smart phone, laptop and free cellular service are offered to him based on his performance. He might be interested in a bonus, promotion, flexible work hours or an extra wage. However the above mentioned incentives would certainly attract the teenage workers and motive them to perform better. A car with some liters of petrol would work for the young employees. Same could be considered for different genders as well. The management must plan the incentives according to the need and interests of the employees to boost their performance.
There are two kinds of work place incentives i.e. monetary and non-monetary. Monetary are the awards which are related to money where as non-monetary are other opportunities and perks for the employee. In both the types, employee recognition is an integral element. The most effective monetary incentives are,

Stock options

Paid time off
Bonus
Extra wage
Cash prize
Profit sharing plans
Additional wage for health treatment, education or any other personal matter
Some of the best non-monetary incentives include,
Flexibility in work hours
Ability to work independently
Less stress and less work load
Training sessions
Promotion
Lunch, dinner or such parties for appreciation
I work for a multinational company and they make business in power sector. A part from the transport facility, they provide a laptop, free internet, free lunch and some credit for cellular use. This is for every employee. If someone performs well and works hard, he is offered with an extra wage or cash prize. Sometimes the award is an international business trip, flexibility in work hours or a training program which he could not attend otherwise.
