Every ethical standard described is additionally characterized by a set of rules, setting out the moral conduct that the company demands of its employees (Dessler, 2008). It is proposed to be a major reference guide for employees in assistance of regular decision-making at the workplace as it is intended to elucidate an organization’s goal, principles, and values, connecting them with standards of the conduct. Furthermore, code of ethics could also be utilized to discover important documents, reports, services and different resources linked to ethical conduct in a company.
Codes of ethics also work as a disclosure of the approach that an organization utilizes (Dessler, 2008). They offer evident rules for behavior. An elegantly composed and attentive ethical code likewise serves as an imperative communication vehicle that "replicate the undertaking that an organization possesses to maintain its most essential values, managing such matters as its dedication to employees, its measures for operating a business and its connection with the company." A code is, in addition, a tool to allow dialogs of ethics and to enhance how representatives manage the ethical predicaments, partialities and others areas that are experienced by them at the workplace.

Methods Used by Organization to Monitor Employees to Conform Code of Ethics

It is just natural for an organization to remain alarmed about what the employees are doing on a regular basis at workplace, utilizing various equipments, while they are having a legal responsibility of any part of the organization (Dessler, 2008). Profit aside, an organization's notoriety may be in danger in the event that the employees are taking part in those online activities that are unlawful, exploitative or harming to the organization's image.
Compliance and fulfillment of Code of Ethics could be implanted as a part of company’s recruitment processes, employment contracts and other performance administering activities. This way, it will become a basic requirement for all of the employees to follow the Organization’s Code of Ethics so that any conduct against these codes could be considered as a breach. Every employee should be advised on the organization’s policies, to follow them, maintain them or at times even improve them. However, employees should also be given a chance to come up with the suggestion as it will build up a sense of teamwork among them.
Furthermore, different training sessions could be organized monthly or annually (depends on the adaptation level of employees) to make the employees familiar with the code of ethics in general and in regard to their present organization. After the training session, a test and a declaration should be conducted to make sure they become acquainted with the Code’s Standards and Principles. Different issue-specific workshops could also be planned regarding the code of ethics in order to monitor the performance of each employee separately.
Employees should also be notified from time to time that every step they take regarding their conduct in the workplace is being monitored by the organization (Dessler, 2008). As a result, they will feel a sense of responsibility for them before violating any code of ethics.
