Networking skills plays a major role in career development since they are valuable career-enhancing assets. During the exercise, my confidence and knowledge helped me to gain a lot from the interaction. I enjoyed how participants were open and friendly. I realized that most of them choose careers not because of their passion towards it but because of the career status and salaries associated with the career. I evaluated my career needs and realized that I was going to the right choice in my life. Individuals assisted each other with information regarding their career and personal needs. Over time, I have realized that successful career people have met their goals through mastering their priorities and evaluating between personal and career needs.
It was my turn to stand up to the occasion and share useful information that changed the perceptions of the individuals who failed to follow their dreams and passions. I played the role of a coach as I guided the participants in the appropriate manner to explore who they will be in their careers, and the best way to get there. As a mentor, I focused on guiding the participants to take actions that will positively contribute towards the achievement of their career and personal goals.
During the exercise, my networking skills improved and they will be helpful in assisting me to realize my future career goals. Information is power, the interaction will increase my knowledge, skills, and experience and this will improve the manner in which I will handle future situations. The networking skills will help me to gather information from diverse fields. I will also be in a good locus in conducting research about my career requirements and share my experiences with the world.
