The joint commission has significant impacts upon healthcare providers within the United States. The joint commission is responsible for advocating and ensuring implementation of appropriate patient safety measures (McLaughlin, 2014). This is significant in enforcing medication and treatment rules to ensure that healthcare providers do not adopt inappropriate operational measures that might place patients at medical and treatment risks.
The joint commission mounts pressure on healthcare providers by supervising the manner of execution of their routine duties in order to ensure that they stand by the healthcare rules and regulations, which ensure safety and efficient healthcare provision for patients . Essentially, the joint commission is also involved in the spread of information necessary for the public as well as the healthcare providers in order to ensure both parties establish appropriate relationships (Schneider, 2013).
