I have found all the three exercises very relevant and effective to me. The first exercise has helped me to analyze my relationship with people who are very close to me. These include close family members and other friends from both genders. Through this exercise, I have been able to categorize all my friends knowing those that are beneficial to me and those that just drain me. I have been able to see those who are there for me any time I need them without reservation, and the role they have played to make me a better person.
Although it was not easy for me to perform some of the activities that were described in the second exercise, I found dolphin breath mediation very beneficial to me. Some activities such as holding breath for 5 seconds before breathing out was quite a challenge to me since I could not count up to five times as required. However, I felt relaxed, energized, fresh and ready to concentrate at the end of the exercise. At the beginning, I was exhausted after working for several hours continuously, but the exercise left me feeling relaxed and fresh to work even for more ten hours.
Finally, I found the last exercise very relevant and applicable to me. This is because it has enabled me to reduce stress for managing information that is requiring my attention everyday. Through the exercise, I have learnt ways of discarding any unnecessary information from my brain that had affected my concentration in the past. Secondly, it has taught me how to sort out relevant and irrelevant information from different sources that I encounter daily.
The first exercise will be very relevant to my close family members as well as my friends. My mother, father, bothers and sisters can use this exercise to help them to understand me better. For example, they will the closest friends who I run to seek help or even advices when in trouble. They may also those friends who are influencing my life negatively through draining me. By conducting this exercise my friends will first understand themselves better and also understand me better. This will improve our relationship with each other, by making mutually beneficial.
The second exercise is important to all people especially those who work for many hours without resting. This is because the exercise helps people to relax through self-initiated model, thus making them effective in their work. For example, students who spend many hours in the library would need to conduct such exercise regularly in order to refresh their minds. The exercise will enable them to concentrate and comprehend what they are reading without any struggle. In addition, office employees who work using computers for several hours would find this exercise beneficial to them since it will enable them to relax and remain efficient in their work.
The third exercise will be very important to young generation and the working class. Young people such as college and high students are learning so many things each day since they are in knowledge-seeking age. Therefore, they can use the exercise to reduce information overload through sorting out the necessary information and discarding the irrelevant one. Secondly, working class people are more exposed to information through television, newspapers, social media and other sources and they can apply the exercise to reduce information management stress.
