This article focuses on the activities that happened after Israeli election where Mr. Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister was sworn into office for another term. The article provides a brief analysis of the events that took place during the election campaign period and the political utterances that were made by Mr. Netanyahu during this period. Additionally, it highlights and provides a brief description regarding the anticipated tasks and challenges that are facing the Incoming Israeli President in relation to international relations as well as domestic social-political issues. The article also discusses the reaction of various political leaders and citizens in regard to the election of Mr. Netanyahu to occupy the Prime Minister’s docket for the second time (www.nytimes.com).

“A Divided Israel may Seek Unity Government” Jordan Times

In this article, published by the Jordan times, the main focus is directed towards the divisions in regard to political perspectives of the incoming Israeli Prime Minister, Mr. Netanyahu and his opponents mainly the Centrist Zionist Union and the Yesh Atid parties. The article highlights and explicates various reasons why the incumbent Prime Minister and the overall government should engage in creating a government that will focus on unifying Israeli citizens, with a little focus directed towards its importance in amending its international relations, especially with the United States (jordantimes.com). Apart from discussing the importance of creating a unifying government under Mr. Netanyahu, the article also highlights possible political consequences that may occur in case the new office of the Prime Minister fails reconcile with the United States.
In both articles, international relationship between Israel and the United appears to be the main focus. The New York Times article discusses one of the most daunting tasks that have to be performed by the Incumbent Prime Minister, which is to improve its relations with the White House. This is after Mr. Netanyahu was accused of uttering certain racial comments on approximately 2 million Israeli Arabs as well as his disavowal remarks regarding a Palestinian State. This issue is also discussed in the Jordan Times, although the major focus on Jordan Times appears to be the daunting tasks facing Mr. Netanyahu in relation to creating a government that would enhance cohesion among the Israelite population. Additionally, the Jordan Times highlight several consequences that might face Israel in regard to its relationship with the United States, in case the Prime Minister does not reconcile with the White House.
On the other hand, relationships between Israel and Palestine, appears to be an issue of contention. The New York Times provides an overview of the remarks that Mr. Netanyahu had made in regard to their relationship with Palestine and how this is not only critical to the well-being of Israel, but also to its relationship with other Arabian nations. In the Jordan Time, a discussion is provided; focusing on the challenges Netanyahu is facing in the government, especially the fact that there is a Centrist Zionist Union that is opposed to his calls to support a Palestinian State. It appears that this issue has created a division within the Israeli government, and the author explicates the various reasons why the Israeli government must focus on internal unity.
In summary, based on a personal perspective, the New York Times article is presented in a brief manner, with the author making an attempt to focus in the pertinence of fostering a proper rapport between the United States and Israel. The Jordan Times however, seems more comprehensive, giving readers what appears to be comprehensive information i.e. internal conflicts and possible international challenges that may Netanyahu as he resumes office.
